Heat resistance is not defined by stainless steel alone

Buyers sometimes request stainless mesh for high temperature service without defining the actual heat cycle, atmosphere, or load condition. In practice, alloy choice, oxidation exposure, tension, support method, and thermal cycling all affect whether the mesh keeps its shape and function over time.

Temperature range should be tied to real operating conditions

A mesh used as a tray liner, furnace belt insert, or guard screen may see very different stress even at similar temperatures. Buyers should explain whether the mesh is under load, exposed to flame, or cleaned repeatedly between cycles.

Quote the thermal service as a full application case

• State peak temperature, continuous temperature, and atmosphere condition.
• Confirm whether the mesh is tensioned, supported, or free-standing.
• Ask whether edge framing or heavier wire is needed to hold shape.

High-temperature mesh performs better when alloy and structure are matched to the actual thermal cycle.
