Traceability matters when the project risk is higher than a standard stock order

Some buyers can work with a basic material declaration, while others need heat number traceability and mill test certificates to satisfy project approval, audit, or end-user documentation. Wire mesh orders for filtration, food process, energy, or controlled industrial systems often fall into the second category.

MTC requests should be matched to the actual supply chain

Buyers should not assume that every mesh item can carry the same traceability level. Depending on the wire source, weaving route, fabrication step, and mixed production lot, the supplier may need to plan identification and separation from the start of production.

State documentation needs before the order is confirmed

• Ask whether heat number tracking, MTC, or batch labeling is required.
• Confirm if traceability must continue through cutting, fabrication, or packing.
• Check what document format is acceptable for your customer or project file.
