Understand coating purpose, mesh stability, pleating behavior, and curing quality when sourcing epoxy coated mesh for filter elements.
Epoxy coated mesh is commonly used as a support layer in air, oil, and hydraulic filter elements. Buyers should not evaluate it like corrosion coating alone. The main questions are how well the mesh keeps shape, whether it pleats cleanly, and whether the cured coating remains stable during forming and service.
Carbon steel and aluminum meshes are common base materials, but coating thickness, adhesion, and cure consistency can change the final performance. A low-cost mesh with uneven coating may crack during pleating or create contamination risk in the finished filter element.
Epoxy coated mesh is easier to source well when the buyer describes the downstream filter process, not just the raw mesh size.
