Wedge wire screens are often specified when slot precision, self-cleaning behavior, rigid structure, or heavy-duty process service becomes more important than flexible cloth-style supply.

Cleaning method and load path matter

If the process includes pressure cleaning, rotating drums, dewatering, or structural load, wedge wire may outperform woven mesh. If the application needs flexible cut pieces, finer cloth-like handling, or lower entry cost, woven mesh may still be the better answer.

Specify the process, not only the opening

• Describe media, flow direction, solids load, and cleaning route.
