Demister mesh performance depends on process conditions
Demister pads are used for gas-liquid separation, but buyers should not treat them as one-size-fits-all knitted mesh. Mist load, flow velocity, pressure drop allowance, temperature, corrosion exposure, and vessel dimensions all influence the correct pad structure.
Material and density must match the separator duty
Stainless steel is common, but monel, PP, and other materials may be needed for special media. Higher density can improve capture efficiency, yet it may also increase pressure drop. Buyers should ask for pad type, thickness, and support arrangement as one assembly rather than just the mesh wire.
RFQs should describe the vessel and maintenance plan
- Provide tower diameter, pad thickness, support grid, and hold-down requirements.
- Confirm operating temperature, media, and corrosion risk.
- Ask how the pad is packed and labeled for installation sequence.
A demister pad order is more accurate when the process engineer and procurement team describe separator duty together.
