These discs solve different filtration and lifecycle problems

Woven filter discs are commonly used when the buyer needs a simpler, lower-cost fabricated part. Sintered filter discs are specified when higher mechanical stability, stronger cleaning performance, or more demanding process conditions justify the added complexity and price.

The right choice depends on pressure and maintenance logic

If the disc must handle repeated cleaning, stronger pressure, or tighter structure retention, sintered construction may be the better fit. If the application is simpler and the part is easy to replace, a woven disc may still provide the best value.

Quote the disc as part of the process environment

• State medium, pressure, cleaning method, and replacement interval.
• Confirm diameter, thickness, support need, and edge condition.
• Ask whether the disc must remain flat, rigid, or ready for assembly into a holder.

The better disc is the one that reduces process risk over its full service cycle, not just the one with the lower unit price.
