Compare safety, rigidity, assembly fit, and cost when choosing edge treatment for woven, welded, or fabricated wire mesh parts.
Many buyers quote aperture, wire diameter, and size correctly but overlook the edge condition. Cut edges may be acceptable for internal filtration or hidden assembly, while wrapped, welded, framed, or hemmed edges may be necessary for safety, stiffness, or visual finish.
A decorative panel, machine guard, basket, or screen tray may each need a different edge solution. A good RFQ should explain whether the mesh is touched by operators, inserted into a frame, welded into an assembly, or installed as a visible finish component.
Clear edge requirements reduce rework because many complaints come from finishing detail rather than the mesh body itself.
