Wire Mesh Filter Cylinder Fabrication Guide for Industrial Buyers

Review seam type, support structure, end caps, tolerances, and cleaning requirements before ordering custom wire mesh filter cylinders.

Filter cylinders are fabrication products, not just rolled mesh

Many buyers quote a cylinder with mesh count and diameter only, but the final part depends on seam method, support layer, end ring or cap design, length tolerance, and how the cylinder fits into the housing. A good RFQ treats the cylinder as an assembly.

Seam quality and support logic affect service life

Spot weld, overlap seam, framed seam, and reinforced support structures each fit different process loads. A cylinder used in light straining duty is very different from one that must hold shape under pressure, backwash, or repeated cleaning.

Send the fabrication details up front

  • Provide diameter, length, seam style, support mesh, and cap detail.
  • Confirm whether burr control, electropolish, or cleaning is required.
  • Ask how cylinders are packed to prevent ovality during export transit.

Most cylinder problems begin when the buyer quotes raw mesh but expects a finished filter component.
